Andara, the Beginning
I hate to do this... really, I do but someone has to do something about it. Sometime in the late 1990's, some unscrupulous shithead was looking at a chunk of glass cullet and a nefarious scheme came into their mind. Whomever this scammer 'patient 0' was, decided to try to and make a buck by selling that large chunk of worthless scrap glass for a small fortune by inventing a ridiculous story and calling it an Andara Crystal. What followed was perhaps one of the biggest scams of the 20th Century and carries merrily on to this very day.
What is a Glass Cullet?
When glass manufacturers make glass, it is typically done in huge furnaces. The glass is melted in large pots or crucibles, and when they get all the glass out of it, there's always some glass that is left behind that sticks to the sides of the container. After this cools, it is busted into large chunks and pieces that people call cullets. These are more often than not, collected and remelted, but occasionally they are dumped and buried or they manage to find their way into the hands of resellers. They buy them by the literal tons. The approximate value for a ton of glass cullet varies depending on the type of glass, but the prices range from around $200 to $960 per ton, or about 2000 pounds of glass chunks. It was likely one of these resellers that started this whole Andara bit, and honestly, whomever it was deserves their awful death.
But My Crystal is a Real Andara!
No... I'm so sorry but it absolutely is not, never was, and never will be anything but a large chunk of industrial glass waste. There is no such thing as an Andara Crystal, there was no Lady Nellie, they're aren't tuned to the Archangel Michael, they aren't monoatomic, they aren't transdimensional beings, they aren't alive, they don't produce any electromagnetic fields, they don't charge your soul... they don't do anything but cost you a small fortune and make the theives and liars who are selling them fabulously wealthy. They weren't discovered on Mount Shasta, they weren't deposited by the Archons, they don't bring wealth or health to you. They aren't remnants of the Atlantean Continent, they sure as hell aren't "infused with the Infinite Diamond Krystalline Kryst LoveLight and personally attuned/activated to on3's personal Light Signature, before being sent to their new guardians, in order to support and assist with one's self-healing, awakening and ascension process/journey." THEY ARE GLASS. Not only that, they are actually dangerous glass. Large chunks of glass need to be cooled slowly in a controlled environment, or they develop stresses and fractures that can build up to thousands of PSI and can literally explode, sending fragments of glass into you or anything else around. Most of them aren't polished, creating edges that can rival surgical scalpels. If you feel they 'vibes' or the 'energy' from your Andara, what you've got there is called gullibility and placebo effect. Please trust me on this, you have been had. If you paid thousands of dollars for it, and therefore it makes you feel better to believe yours is real, then I'm so sorry for you but this is the absolute truth. If you can get your money back, I really would.
But... How do you know?
I've spent the last thirty years or so melting glass, handling glass, talking about glass, selling glass, shaping and polishing glass, buying glass, shipping glass, glass glass glass. I know glass like I know my own hands and feet. I know a glass cullet, just looking at them more often than not, I can tell you who manufactured it, what type of glass it is, what temperature it melts at, you get the idea. I can assure you, that chunk of glass you bought from that fancy looking Etsy Shop or that lady that sells the nice Amethysts and Calcites, is nothing more than a chunk of industrial waste. Is it pretty? Sure, some of it really is. A lot of people used to buy them to place in their gardens or line their walkways with, but they sure didn't pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for them. I assure you, the person that sold you that 'Andara Crystal' did not pay more than a couple of bucks for it, maybe 40 bucks for the really big ones. I don't know what else to tell you, but PLEASE stop buying these things and making these people rich off your ignorance. If you've never heard of or seen a glass cullet before, please take a moment and do a google image search for Glass Cullet, or Glass Slag... does that look familiar? Did they at least polish it before selling you a potential explosive chunk of un-annealed glass so the edges don't slice your hand open? It's glass, there's no deposits of magical crystals on Mount Shasta, take the thing to a gem expert or a geologist if you don't want to take my word for it, but PLEASE have someone that knows about REAL gems or Jewelry or Glass look at it, YOU NEED TO KNOW and this whole ANDARA SCAM NEEDS TO STOP.
You're Just a Skeptic/non-believer!
No, I'm not. I've got crystals, real ones. Got a double terminated quartz laying around here somewhere that I carried in my pocket for years. I've built a crystal radio, I've spent countless hours researching ancient megalithic structures and I've been involved with an honest to god paranormal research team. I believe in things that would probably freak even you out, and I'm actually working on a book called 'Tryptamines and God' which is about the use of entheogens in all the world's major religions. I've had out of body experiences with meditation alone, and I've seen enough ghosts and paranormal events to last me a lifetime. Spare me the indignation, and save yourself the doubt and despair and please take that 'Andara Crystal' to a Jeweler or a geologist and when you find out, please let the person who sold you that thing know how you feel afterwards. Etsy isn't going to remove these listings, they make about 15% of the final value fees, the crooks selling these things aren't going to stop selling them, they are making tens of thousands of dollars, often for a single chunk of glass... I'm not selling anything here, I'm trying to tell you that you got took, big time. Often the sellers will quip a fancy quote about the universe or philosophy when questioned... I'll quote one myself here for you that you really need to think about if you've bought an 'Andara'... "It is easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled" I know you want to believe, I know you spent a lot of money, hell you may even 'feel' something when you hold it, but I also know that Andara Crystals are a load of shit and a lot of well meaning people have been taken in by this.
Why do you care anyway?
Because it's fucking wrong to tell people something is something that it isn't, and it's really fucking wrong to make money off of people who don't know any better. It's even WAY MORE fucking wrong to make someone believe that a chunk of cullet glass is going to change their lives, energize their souls, enable them to engage some higher beings or attain enlightment or heal something, and then charge them hundreds if not thousands of dollars for a chunk of LITERAL INDUSTRIAL WASTE. I'll tell you why I care... My poor neighbor is an elderly widow, full blooded Cherokee woman. She doesn't have a pot to piss in, can barely walk, and she lives on a fixed income barely able to feed her dogs and make ends meet. She knows that I am a glass artist and one day she approached me all excited about what she called a powerful Crystal she was wanting to buy. She showed it to me on her phone, and I immediately recognized it as a piece of Oxblood Glass Cullet. I told her it was glass, and that in fact I had a box at my house with a couple pieces of that very same glass... When I actually handed her a piece of it the next day, I saw what it did to her. Someone she had trusted had damned nearly sold her a 'priceless Andara' that was going to change her life, she had told me the whole Lady Nellie and Mount Shasta thing, and finding out it was glass broke her heart. It broke mine to tell her, even though I think she knew. Choctaw Indians weren't in California... Andara isn't a crystal... Anyways, I'm done with the rant here but I felt like I had to say something. Please, for the love of god, if you don't believe me, then PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take your Andara to a local Jeweler and get the truth... and get your money back, if you can. If you just can't wrap your mind around this, then let me know and I will gladly sell you a literal Ton of them for couple hundred bucks, just about any color you like.
Frozen Black Holes
I've been poking around on the internet, trying to find the origins of this scam, and trying to read through endless piles of ridiculous mythologies these people have hacked up and all I can say is just... wow. Trying to follow this 'mythology' is particularly difficult because it is coming from various scam artists who all tend to add their own little addendums and twists on the story and apparently it is also very dynamic. As they inevitably get called out for this obvious scam, their story line changes to adapt itself to it's own chicanery.
When the gem folks started speaking out and telling people it was just slag and cullet glass, these 'Andara Crystals' shifted from being actual crystals containing everything from monoatomic elements, frozen black holes, to what they call prima matra, to this...

In other words, NOW, they are just man made chunks of glass that were found on a site where some transdimensional crystals were formed, which no longer exist on this plane, but are metaphysically connected to worthless chunks of cullet glass. You guys should read some of this crap, it really is incredible.

Frozen Black Holes... Frozen Black Holes y'all. Never mind that black holes are theoretical, but if you can't see through 'Frozen Black Holes', I'm not sure there's anything I can say here that is going to help you. No wonder they're tens of thousands of dollars though, the amount of matter it would take to create a black hole in the first place I think is literally infinite, like more than a google plex to the power of a google plex, and there it is just-a-sittin on your table. I hope this helps someone, I really do. IT'S SCRAP GLASS!!!
